  14. Last week I encountered what I believe to be a virus but to this day I am
  15. still unable to determine which virus it was and what caused it.

  17. I have a hunch it was a search util I grabbed off aminet a few weeks ago.
  18. (fsearch.lha) in util/sys. It is a replacement for the amigados command
  19. search but much faster.

  21. Back to the virus... What it did was corrupt corrupt several hundred of my
  22. files with the 'y' character. In case this does not translate well it is a
  23. lowercase y with 2 horizontal dots above it. Some of my files were fill
  24. with nothing but this character. I all the cases I saw the filesize
  25. remained the same. I have since restored an old backup and things seem to
  26. be back to normal. I ran virus_checker on the drive and it came up emtpy.
