- Hello....!
-
-
- Last week I encountered what I believe to be a virus but to this day I am
- still unable to determine which virus it was and what caused it.
-
- I have a hunch it was a search util I grabbed off aminet a few weeks ago.
- (fsearch.lha) in util/sys. It is a replacement for the amigados command
- search but much faster.
-
- Back to the virus... What it did was corrupt corrupt several hundred of my
- files with the 'y' character. In case this does not translate well it is a
- lowercase y with 2 horizontal dots above it. Some of my files were fill
- with nothing but this character. I all the cases I saw the filesize
- remained the same. I have since restored an old backup and things seem to
- be back to normal. I ran virus_checker on the drive and it came up emtpy.
-
- Any clues to what virus this may be?
-
- Thanks for any help!!!!
